Foreign Exchange Transactions

Foreign exchange transactions represent a system of payment operations (charges, payments and bank transfers) between residents and non–residents (or simplified: payment operations with abroad) in foreign currencies.

Payment operations with abroad are made through foreign currency accounts opened at business banks in the country and (only on an exceptional basis) abroad, according to the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Operations Act (Official Gazette 96/03 to 132/06) and is under the supervision of the Croatian National Bank as the central bank in Croatia.
