The most important news of the Labour Law (Official Gazzette n. 149/2009), effective starting from 1st of January, 2010, have been brought in accordance with the European heritage concerning the areas of employment and social affairs as well as the EU's legislation. The news is based on the European Union Directives that regulate the working time, working conditions and participation of workers in the process of management, free movement of persons, freedom to provide services, protection of fundamental human rights and equal opportunities.
From the new Labour Law we particularly highlight the following areas:
- weekly working time and overtime work;
- shift and night shift work;
- break, daily, weekly and annual vacation;
- part - time working;
- temporary working;
- protection of youth workers rights.
